Teach First works in partnership with schools and other organisations to break the link between educational attainment and low socio-economic background. We recruit high calibre, passionate individuals to support schools in delivering the best education for pupils.
Become a Teach First partner school and you can:
- recruit talented members of staff who are committed to achieving impact for your pupils
- use your experience to contribute to their training - focusing on the outcomes you want for your pupils
- work with a national network of people and organisations dedicated to achieving change in education.
Why recruit a Teach First participant?
- They undergo a rigorous recruitment and selection process before they are accepted onto the Teach First Leadership Development Programme.
- Your school's requirements are closely matched with their skills to ensure you get the right person for your needs.
- Participants commit to a minimum of two years at your school where they teach an NQT timetable; and nearly three quarters choose to stay for at least a third year.
- Their 13 month Initial Teacher Training starts with our unique six-week Summer Institute which provides them with intensive preparation for teaching.
- Participants complete both their PGCE training year and their first year as an NQT in your school.
- We are the only route which delivers bespoke training - rated Outstanding by Ofsted - for teachers who want to work exclusively in schools meeting our criteria.
Which schools do we work with?
Primary and secondary schools where more than half of pupils come from the poorest 30% of families in the UK, according to the IDACI (Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index ). In some cases Teach First will use its discretion to explore working with schools who do not meet this criteria. Please contact one of our regional teams for more information.
