Share best practice
Share your feedback, share your data, and help us all work more effectively for the benefit of pupils.
Schools Advisory Groups
Each school that we work with is invited to join a Schools Advisory Group, which meets to discuss the development of the programme, and share ideas and best practice about the training of Teach First participants. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and use your ideas to improve the way we work. The groups are made up representatives from our university partners and Teach First. The group meets to discuss the development of the programme, and share ideas and best practice about the training of Teach First participants.
Research
Teach First regularly conducts qualitative and quantitative research to examine the impact of our teachers in schools principally to support programme improvement. Teach First aims to share as much of this, concerning pupil and student achievement, progression and aspirations, with partner schools to support their improvement aims. If you would like to know more and get involved, please contact Dr Simon Gallacher.
Share your expertise
Speak at our events
We host events for participants to learn and discuss the challenges that leaders across all sectors face. As a school partner you will be invited to attend or speak at these events and enable participants to learn from your experience for the benefit of the child they teach.
More reasons to be a Teach First partner
Our network
Upon successful completion of the Leadership Development Programme, our teachers join a growing community of Teach First ambassadors (alumni). This community is united by:
- Insight into the challenges schools face, experience of what works, and innovative ideas.
- Expertise to help realise our vision that no child's educational success is limited by their socio economic background.
- Commitment to raise the achievement, aspiration and access to opportunity of children from low socio-economic backgrounds.
Become a Teach First partner and you can:
Recruit teachers with between two and nine years' experience
- You can advertise vacancies for classroom teachers as well as middle and senior leadership positions amongst the ambassador (alumni) community for free.
- Our ambassadors have access to the resources, networks, and opportunities they need for continuing professional development in line with your school's needs.
Strengthen your school governance
- Ambassadors in governing positions at Teach First-eligible schools are supported by us in partnership with the School Governor's One Stop Shop (SGOSS).
Help your pupils make the right decision about higher education
- We run a bespoke free Sixth Form mentoring programme for pupils (Higher Education Access Programme for Schools - HEAPS).
- You can book the Access Bus to give your Year 8 to 11s free insights into Higher Education.
