Where and when does Futures operate?

We’re looking for Futures Mentors in all areas of England. You will receive training and attend a launch event in June or July 2018, and will mentor two pupils until August 2019.

Who can be a mentor?

You do not need to have prior experience of mentoring. We are looking for people who are interested in working with young people and committed to supporting them. It doesn’t matter if you are working in a school, a business or a charity – if you have ever applied to university you have something to offer a young person who hasn’t.

How much time will it take?

It only takes 10-15 minutes to apply. Once you become a mentor, you will meet with your mentees for roughly an hour every six weeks for 14 months.

What will you do as a mentor?

- Spend time working with two inspirational young people from your area, using your skills and knowledge to positively impact their future

- Develop yourself by building your coaching, communication and organisation skills and expanding your knowledge of the barriers young people face when accessing higher education

- Receive a handbook containing information, useful dates and suggestions for mentoring sessions

- Be invited to join the Futures mentor Facebook group

- Follow the Teach First Child Safeguarding Policy
