Teach First Colleges was launched in 2009 as a response to the increasing importance of Further Education Colleges in tackling educational disadvantage amongst 14 -19 year olds and the need to encourage high quality teachers and leaders into the sector.

Jointly developed by Teach First, London First and the Association of Colleges London, the initiative aims to increase the scope of Teach First’s ability to address educational disadvantage through placing exceptional, inspirational graduate teachers and leaders into  Further Education colleges.

Teach First Colleges places Teach First Ambassadors (alumni of the two year Teach First Leadership Development programme) into colleges across England and provides extensive support and guidance to maximise their impact in the classroom.

Teach First Colleges already works with a number of colleges in London.
