When you join Teach First, you become part of a life-long network of leaders committed to positively impacting education. As a result, it's not just during your two years that you have the chance to make a difference, but long-term in your capacity as an 'ambassador' of the programme. Through a structured programme of events and online activity, you will find yourself actively encouraged to build on the friendships and networks that you have developed during your two years of teaching in order to continue to address educational disadvantage - whatever profession you move into - as well as further develop your leadership potential.
Career Support Many of our supporters have expressed an interest in hiring Teach First participants at the end of their two years on the programme. To connect you with these companies, we will provide you with various opportunities to network with employers, both during and after your time on Teach First. In addition, we will ensure that you are able to access current vacancies via our protected participant and ambassador websites. As time goes on, we'll also have an increasing number of Teach First ambassadors working for our supporters, who you will be able to contact via the Teach First ambassador directory for support and advice.
Foundations of Leadership Sectors As part of the Foundations of Leadership course, you will have selected and completed a sector training day related to your future career. This will group you with other participants with similar interests, forming sector groups of people heading in the same direction. These networks will hold regular events, allowing you to continue to build up the networks you started while you were on Teach First.
Ambassador Support When you have completed Teach First, you will have an important story to tell and one that you will be keen to share with the participants that come after you! In order to help you in this, we will provide you with a range of opportunities to stay involved with Teach First beyond your initial two years, from becoming a 'buddy' to a new participant, to talking about your experiences of the programme on campus and running workshops at various of our leadership and training events. Why is this important? Because the best people to support and direct new participants to the programme are those that have done it before - a principle at the heart of Teach First!

"We've made a real difference in schools and want to carry on making a difference beyond the programme - whether in teaching or not."
