Your teaching support does not end with our summer training programme. In addition to the six weeks you spend at the Summer Institute, you will have training throughout your first year of teaching.

Teach First partners with top initial teacher training (ITT) providers in each region that provide the summer training and also supply tutors who support you all year. You will have a professional tutor who builds a relationship with you by visiting your school fortnightly. This tutor provides support through observations, one on one meetings and whole school meetings with all the Teach First participants at your school.

In addition to the Teach First professional tutor, you will have a Teach First subject tutor. This subject tutor conducts six days of training during which all the Teach First participants in each subject area get together to share ideas and learn strategies to improve their teaching.

Teach First tutors are not the only line of support. You will also have mentors within your school who can help you in your professional and subject development. Although each school varies in the type of support it offers, all participants will be able to attend school based professional development entitled to them as teachers in the school.

Finally, you will have access to the formal and informal support system provided by other participants and ambassadors in the Teach First network.
