School observation

Upon acceptance into the programme, you will be asked to complete a week of focused observation in a secondary school.  The objective of the observation is to gain a new perspective as you observe pupils, teachers, and the day-to-day functioning of a school.  Observation is widely accepted as one of the most useful tools to improve one's teaching.

Observations must be completed before the summer training begins.  As such, you may decide to observe at schools within one of the existing Teach First regions -- Greater London, North West or the Midlands.  Alternatively you may choose to observe in schools more convenient to your location in other parts of the UK.
