External Relations

The External Relations team is responsible for initiating and maintaining the relationships with our Supporting Partners (financial donors) and Supporters (in-kind donors), as well as managing the public image of Teach First.

With over twelve years fundraising, events management and marketing experience, Philip joins Teach First with responsibility for fundraising from businesses and charitable foundations, and managing external relationships. Philip joins Teach First from the military charity, SSAFA Forces Help and previously The Royal British Legion where he worked for the Poppy Appeal. He can communicate in British Sign Language after a two year voluntary role working with deaf people and is a qualified Deafblind Manual Interpreter through his work at Deafblind UK. Philip is the Chairman of a Resident’s Association and is a member of the Institute of Fundraising.

Emma went to the University of Stirling and completed a BA in Religious Studies and French before moving to London to join Teach First.  Through the Teach First programme she became a Religious Education teacher for The Business Academy Bexley, and thoroughly enjoyed working with the pupils.  She is now working for Teach First as their External Relations Officer and is looking forward to the new and exciting challenges that this role will bring.

Lucy joins Teach First from Prostate Cancer Research Foundation where she was the Trust & Corporate Fundraiser. After graduating from King’s College London with a BSc in Geography she completed a Fundraising Internship at Student Volunteering England and has also passed the Fundraising Practice module of the Certificate in Fundraising Management. Lucy is looking forward to her role as External Relations Officer at Teach First where she will be fundraising from charitable trusts and foundations.
