Rhys was a 2006 Teach First Teacher and part of the first North-West cohort, having taught MFL at Parklands High School in Wythenshawe, Manchester. During that time he also worked as a Teaching and Learning Group (TLG) facilitator for South Manchester as well as representative on the regional Student Participant Liaison Committee (SPLiC) and SPLiC summit. Elected by his peers Rhys works directly with participants towards representing their views at this exciting time in Teach First’s development. He spends an equal amount of time on implementing his manifesto pledges. These include looking at celebrating and promoting Equality and Diversity within the national cohort, establishing and strengthening ties within and between regions, as well as looking into new ways to support all Teach First teachers through their initial two years and encourage them to share best practice.
