Following 10 years negotiating and managing strategic business relationships at DIRECTV, the leading satellite television provider in the US, Matt joined Teach First in the North West office based in Manchester.  Over the last two years Matt was responsible for supporting the Teach First teachers in the North West on their two year journey, with a focus on managing the Leadership Development programme. He now has responsibility for managing the organisation's IT systems and processes.

Sanjay has managed the IT systems at Teach First since the summer of 2006.

Nimesh has extensive experience in IT systems and support and is responsible for providing desktop support to the staff, as well as aiding in the development of Teach First's IT systems. He graduated from King's College London with a BSc in Chemistry.

Joe is responsible for developing the IT services of Teach First to meet the evolving needs of the organisation. He joined Teach First in 2003 as one of the original Participants and taught Science up to GCSE and Physics to A-level for two years in a north London school, after which he took a year off to travel, joining the staff of Teach First in January 2007. He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters in Engineering.

Peter brings a background in IT and Education. His career includes working on financial software projects for a multinational computing organisation, volunteering as a Primary School classroom assistant and, after completing a Computer Science degree at the University of York, joining Teach First as an ICT and Computing Teacher . He spent three years teaching in East London where he became Head of Computing. Whilst teaching he helped to develop the OpenEducationDisc, a CD that provides free software solutions for schools and students. He is a keen proponent of extra-curricular activites and co-founder of the 'Teach First Mind Games', and annual nationwide interschool competition. Peter is responsible for developing the IT services of Teach First to meet the evolving needs of the organisation.

Trisha has predominantly an insurance background, but is very much looking forward to working in a completely different work related environment as Teach First.  For relaxation Trisha likes to garden, cook, walk and generally keep fit, but also likes to travel.  Trisha gets motivated by helping others where possible.

Darren joins Teach First from the military welfare charity, SSAFA Forces Help, where he worked in their Public Awareness and Communications department. He now has the responsibility of running the London Office as the London Operations Administrator. Darren studied at Crown Woods Sixth Form, where he was taught A-level Business Studies by a Teach First participant.

Sharon brings 8 years experience to her role of Human Resources Manager.  Having worked in security, hospitality and shipping, Sharon’s experience in the HR environment has been extremely varied and quite challenging.  Sharon comes to Teach First with a wealth of knowledge that aims to ensure that Teach First continues to be a best practice employer.  Sharon spent some time living in South Africa and studied there for a while during the early nineties.  Since returning to the UK she has continued her studies and undertook her CIPD training. Sharon’s strengths lie in her knowledge of developing policies and procedures, recruitment, employee relations and developing systems to ensure smooth running of the HR function.
