Access future leaders
Employers participating in the Teach First programme view the graduates' two years of teaching in a challenging school as a highly positive experience and, on this basis, are keen to work with Teach First to access participants' energy and skills.

Participating organisations not only tap into a ready pool of bright graduates, but also a body of leaders that has demonstrated resillience in tough circumstances, excellent communication skills and good business sense developed through our leadership development courses, designed in partnership with supporting employers, Tanaka Business School and the Institute of Education.

Employers support Teach First participants' development through one-to-one volunteer coaching, summer projects and skills and industry-based training. This contact gives you the opportunity to promote your organisation whilst networking with participants - and judging for yourself how capable they are.

Improve education
Teach First's origins lie in business and in leading organisations' desires to see educational standards improve throughout London, the North West and the Midlands. By working with Teach First, employers have a direct and strategic influence over countless pupils' lives, whilst also improving the skills and experiences of a growing workforce of future leaders.

More specifically, employees are able to make an difference in challenging schools through the coaching programme and other similar activities designed to support the graduates through key decision points in their time on the programme and, in doing so, to enable them to develop the skills they need to be as effective a teacher and leader as possible. In short, Teach First offers unrivalled opportunities for organisations to put their skills, experiences and resources into impacting education through a new generation of teachers.

"I am very pleased for Canary Wharf to be one of the founding sponsors of Teach First, a programme that will have an impact throughout London, as well as in our immediate neighbourhood of Tower Hamlets. I believe the business community of London should rise to the challenge of this innovative business-government partnership by recognising its value through summer projects, coaching, training and financial support."

George Iacobescu, CBE - CEO Canary Wharf Group
