Even great ideas start small
During our Innovation Series you will learn more about educational inequality, generate new ideas to solve it and pilot your best idea to see if it really works.
You can apply to take part in an Innovation Series as an individual or in a team. You don’t have to be a teacher or have trained with Teach First, but if you are part of our Leadership Development Programme you won’t be able to apply in your first year.
We are looking for people:
- Who have spotted a problem in our education system that unfairly affects children from low-income families, and are passionate about creating a solution (you don’t need to have the solution just yet!)
- Who can take part in all five events which form the series
- Who will commit time and effort to their project throughout the 10-month programme
So why should you apply?
Your idea will be thoroughly tested.
Our Innovation Series is all about problem-solving and as much as we love discussing ideas we’re keen to get you putting them into practice as soon as possible. Our experts will help you analyse the problem, build your idea and test it.
It's free of charge.
And, if your application is successful, we'll cover most of your training day costs, including meals and some of your travel expenses.
Anyone can apply.
Educational inequality is a complex issue and we need people with a variety of skills and experience to come up with solutions. That’s why we’re open to everyone.
You will build a network.
During the Series you’ll work with like-minded people from different sectors and backgrounds, who will share your journey and support you.
You’ll get expert mentoring.
Experts from business, education and the third sector will advise and mentor you on how to generate ideas, plan and evaluate your pilot and much more.
You can win funding.
Once you’ve developed an idea with potential, you’ll get the chance to take part in a friendly Dragons’ Den-style pitch to win funding that’ll help you pilot your idea.
