Teach First Innovation Award 2018
The Innovation Award exists to empower individuals with game-changing ideas that will fulfill our goal of ending educational inequality in the UK.
It enables up to five winners to turn their ideas into a reality. Each Award Winner will receive six months’ full-time salary and a place on our Innovation Incubator, an intensive programme of technical training, supportive mentoring and expert advice to help them develop, pilot and scale their idea.
Don’t miss the opportunity to access our unique education expertise, our pioneering and personalised curriculum, and be part of our community, with desk space and membership of the Innovation Hub and Entrepreneur Network.
For this year's Innovation Award, we're seeking applications from individuals who have game-changing ideas in the two innovation areas set out below. We believe that supporting and developing innovations to address these areas will make the biggest difference in closing the gap for young people from low-income communities.
The two innovation areas are:
- Raising the attainment of the lowest-performing pupils
- Supporting pupil progression into employability in a variety of sectors.

“Two things separate the Innovation Unit from other incubators. The first is the quality of the team who run it – they are the best at what they do. The second is the quality of that support – Teach First's reputation means that you get support from experts.”
Matt Hood – Institute for Advanced Teaching
The final of this year's Teach First Innovation award will take place at the head office of Bloomberg LLP on 22 March. The ten finalists will make their final pitches and up to five winners will be announced.
