Teach First STEM 121 Calls - South East and South Coast - June

We are now open for applications to train to teach with us in summer 2020. This is the best time to apply as we have full location and subject availabilty. As this is an early recruitment window, if  unsuccessful, you will uniquely be able to apply again from September 2019 for summer 2020. Applying early also enables more time to prepare for getting into teaching both pragmatically and for subject knowledge.

This 1-2-1 phone call (approx 15mins) is aimed specifically at young professionals and career changers in the South East and South Coast of England, who hold a STEM A level/Degree and would like to explore Teach First and our programme. It will enable you to find out more about the charity, the structure and benefits of our route into teaching.

You can teach a STEM subject from your A Level or equivalent if grade B or above.

Did you know 62% of low-income pupils fail to achieve an A*- C Science GCSE and the UK economy has a shortfall of 40,000 STEM graduates each year? Here is some information on the STEM challenge.

  • School-based and salaried programme - Earn a salary from your first day in September and throughout your training, including school holidays
  • No fees to pay, fully-funded PGDE - Unlike some other routes, you pay no fees for your training and receive a salary
  • Three points of professional support - Support from a subject expert, an in-school mentor and a Teach First mentor, plus the Teach First community
  • Training twice-rated outstanding by Ofsted - 99% of our trainees get a grade 1 or 2 QTS ranking

In the South East South Coast region, we are recruiting in the following areas:

Ashford, Dover & Folkestone; Hastings; Eastbourne & Brighton; Medway & Gravesham; Swale; Thanet; Portland/Weymouth; Bournemouth & Poole; Isle of Wight; Portsmouth; Southampton; Crawley.

Please note there are eligibility criteria you will need to meet in order to gain a place on our programme. We strongly advise you check the teaching requirements on our website before you sign up to attend this event.
