For the fifth consecutive year, we are hugely proud to have been chosen as one of seven charity partners in leading global bank, Citi’s E for Education campaign.Kicking-off on 11 September and running for ten weeks until 17 November 2017, this philanthropic initiative raises vital funds for education charities around the world.
Over five years, E for Education has raised over £1.6 million for us. In doing so it has helped us support 120,000 disadvantaged young people across England and Wales. We believe every child deserves an equal chance in life. Yet, in the UK, it’s mainly family income that determines how well they do at school. Through the support of initiatives like E for Education, we can develop teachers, leaders and solutions to challenge this inequality in the classroom and beyond.
Citi’s FXLM business will donate US$1 for every US$1 million of FX traded electronically. The funds raised through transactions will be split across seven beneficiary charities around the world.
Nadir Mahmud, Citi’s Global Head of Foreign Exchange and Local Markets said at Citi, said: “We are proud of the significant progress achieved through the campaign to date and grateful for the support that our clients and staff have consistently demonstrated to facilitate equal access to quality education in the communities we operate in.”
Citi has been one of our most important partners, working with us for over 15 years to raise over £2 million, and to support some of our most important initiatives. In that time, we have, and will continue to work side-by-side to tackle educational disadvantage in England and Wales.
Without the support of our corporate partners like Citi, and the E for Education campaign, our work would simply not be possible.
Since 2013, donations from Citi E for Education have totalled over US$16 million. Find out more about E for Education on Citi's website.
