Registration is now open!

Described by a former runner as “the world's most awe-inspiring city 10k” - Run the River is back for 2017. Don’t miss your chance to secure your spot in this sell-out event.

Taking place on Tuesday 12 September at 7pm, and supported by our partner Citi, Run the River is Teach First’s annual flagship run starting at dusk along the riverside paths of the Thames.

Last year, we saw 3,000 runners come together under the twinkling lights of the iconic London skyline, running and raising money for Teach First. Running off the pressures of the day, networking with - and competing against - colleagues, clients and teams from across the city, we raised over £170,000 to help us improve education for children living in low-income communities.

“Run the River was a fantastic way for me to bring together my colleagues and clients around historical London landmarks. There were opportunities for networking, helping us to achieve business objectives while fundraising for a great cause.”
David, PA Consulting

Will you join us this year to raise even more money and help us reach even more children?

Anybody can take part, and Registration is now open for both individuals and teams alike. All runners will benefit from chip timing, receive an official technical t-shirt to wear on the evening, and will be presented with a medal and goody bag at the finish line.

Once again we’re offering runners the choice to run either our 5k or 10k route, both of which take competitors past some of London’s most well-known architectural, cultural and historical landmarks including the Tower of London, the Tate Modern and City Hall.

This year by being part of Run the River you could play a vital role in our 15th anniversary. In 2017, we’re looking to Challenge the Impossible – improving low-levels of social mobility so that young people from poorer backgrounds can break through the class ceiling and lead fulfilling happy lives. And thanks to the money we raise at events like Run the River – both through the incredible fundraising efforts of our runners, and those who generously choose to top-up their registration fee with additional donations - we are building a movement of leaders who are changing lives within classrooms, schools and across society.

"Run the River is a fantastic event, and one that I look forward to every year! It’s great to see so many companies and individuals come together to support Teach First. For 2017 I hope to see even more of you running the river to help young people across England and Wales get the education they deserve."
Paul Drechsler CBE, Chair, Teach First

If you're not a runner, you can still get involved by becoming a Run Maker. We need as many volunteers as possible to help marshal the route, cheer our runners and hand out t-shirts and medals. Sign up to volunteer.

Register to run today, and join the thousands of other runners who, like us, refuse to accept that disadvantage determines destiny.
