What information is collected?

The form asks for the following information about you:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Cohort
  • Leadership level of your current or most recent school based role
  • Reasons why you would like to undertake School Pathway and Coaching

Although we do not ask or expect you to provide us with any sensitive information, in the event that you do disclose sensitive personal information through this form, we will ensure that, in line with our legal requirements, extra safeguards are in place to protect this information and that it will only be processed for the specific purpose for which you provided it to us.

What will Teach First use your information for?

Personal information will only be processed in accordance with the purposes given in this fair collection notice. These will limited to the following purposes:

  • To enable Teach First to contact you with appropriate marketing communications, based on your interests identified in the pledge form and the information you provide to us.

In order to achieve these purposes, we may use your personal information to:

  • Update our ambassador records;
  • Undertake statistical analysis and internal research;
  • Contact you to follow up on your pledge; and
  • Send you marketing materials, including job and career development opportunities.

Who will your information be shared with?

The information you voluntarily provide to us will only ever be shared on a need to know basis, for example where there is a statutory requirement to do so, and always in accordance with our data protection obligations. We will use this information to monitor the impact our programmes are having, and to produce statistics which can contribute towards wider research into how educational inequality can be better addressed in the long term. We will never disclose your data to a third party for them to use it for the purpose of marketing without first having your explicit consent. Below are some of the parties/organisations that we may share your information with:

  • Teach First's external and internal auditors
  • Where we use a data processor, for example to send marketing communications on our behalf (Teach First will always remain the data controller of your data)
  • The Fair Education Alliance

Whenever we share your information, we always require strict compliance with data protection legislation from the third party and we ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect it.

How will your information be stored?

The information you provide us with will be stored confidentially for 2 years against your Salesforce record on Teach First servers. These servers are based in the United Kingdom. Some of the third party applications we use to keep in touch with you are based outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). These are restricted to the tools we use to send certain marketing communications, for example Mailchimp and Dotmailer. These data processors store your data (name and email address) in the USA.

Please be assured that Teach First and its subsidiaries are fully committed to maintaining your privacy and adhering to our legal obligations in the Data Protection Act 1998 and the forthcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation. Teach First will only collect and process personal information for the purposes stated above and to support Teach First's mission. We will not sell, distribute or pass your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. Teach First and its subsidiaries will only use your personal details to send you promotional information about third parties which you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to be the case.
