Transform your goals with Teach First coaching

A year of tailored coaching with expert support

Coaching relationships last for one year. You'll have at least six one-to-one sessions with your coach, with frequency and length agreed to suit your needs.

How it works

  • Matching process: We’ll match successful applicants with a coach from one of our corporate partners, prioritising employees from those organisations first, then Teach First ambassadors, followed by all other eligible applicants.
  • Coaching schedule: Sessions will take place online throughout the school year, beginning in March 2026. Coachees can work with us to create a schedule that fits their needs, ensuring a tailored coaching experience that works around their commitments.

Meet our coaches

Our coaching network continues to grow and evolve. Last year, we welcomed professionals from a range of organisations, including:

  • BNP Paribas
  • Deloitte
  • DHL
  • IG Group
  • Ørsted
  • Zurich
  • Teach First Ambassador community

This year, we’re building on that strong foundation by introducing coaches from Teach First, bringing even more insight and experience to the programme.

All coaches receive bespoke training from our partners Goodfoot and diversity and inclusion specialists Simms Coaching and Consulting.

Why work with a coach?

Working with a coach from outside the school setting offers unique benefits:

  • Fresh perspectives: Time and space away from school to explore challenges and solutions.
  • Confidentiality: A safe, non-judgmental environment to work through areas of concern.
  • Accountability: Guidance and encouragement as you work towards your goals.

What you’ll get

As a participant, you’ll receive:

  • Bespoke one-to-one sessions with a trained coach.
  • Year-round support and regular email updates from us.
  • Resources to help you get the most out of your coaching sessions.

Am I eligible for the Coaching Programme?

The programme is open to:

  • Current Teach First programme members: Including Training Programme, Leading Together, Headship Next, Remarkable Women and ECF participants.
  • Ambassadors: We also offer Coaching to our past programme members who are ambassadors, now working in teaching and those whose work is aligned to the Teach First vision — fighting to make our education system work for every child. Whether an individual is a school governor or part of a business that supports schools and students, we believe their work aligns with our mission.

You must also be prepared to commit to attending and preparing for regular coaching sessions, as agreed upon with your coach.

Take the next step in your development

Gain expert guidance, fresh perspectives and space to grow – all on your terms.

Rachel Romain,
Head of English at Michaela Community School
My coach has been fantastic in helping me to progress my thinking or to look at problems in new and unexpected ways. She doesn’t tell me what to do. Instead, she helps me to figure out my own solutions to any challenges I'm facing.
Simon Palmer,
Head of Science at Dixons Academies Trust
By talking to somebody with vast experience, I was able to get a different viewpoint on my own strengths and areas for development.
