Innovation Award Mentor

vation Award exists to empower individuals with game-changing ideas that will fulfil our goal of ending educational inequality in the UK. It enables up to five winners to turn their ideas into a reality. Each Award Winner will receive six months’ full-time salary and a place on our Innovation Incubator, an annual, intensive programme of technical training, supportive mentoring and expert advice to help them develop, pilot and scale their idea.

This role is crucial for helping high-potential new ideas, and the entrepreneurs developing them, to bridge the so-called ‘valley of death’ between successfully piloting an idea, and establishing a new organisation which has demonstrated impact, appropriate structures and sufficient financing. You will be responsible for delivering and brokering excellent quality support (fortnightly training sessions and 1:1 meetings) to ensure that the ideas have strong foundations in place to ensure their long-term impact and financial sustainability.
You will have a unique chance to make a profound impact on the development of two of the most exciting new innovations in education, and work closely with these emerging social entrepreneurs.

University Recruiter

The University Recruiter is responsible for targeting and recruiting talented individuals from a number of universities to apply to the four flagship Teach First graduate and undergraduate programmes (the Leadership Development Programme, Insight, Taster, Brand Managers). They plan and deliver all Teach First activity at those universities to ensure we hit our ambitious cohort targets, including designing and delivering key events and activities, line managing student brand managers, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and building a strong and diverse pipeline of future applicants for our programmes. Their purpose is to raise the brand of Teach First on campus to support the achievement of recruitment targets so that Teach First can place teachers where they are needed most to end educational inequality.

Director of Fundraising

The Director of Fundraising will lead the department to secure voluntary funding through a range of fundraising techniques to enable Teach First to accelerate and deliver its programmatic activity with a clear strategy that is supported across the whole organisation, embedding the criticality of voluntary funding and connecting supporters to our cause, maximising every opportunity to further build our brand and win support for the organisation. You will champion and advocate for audience insight and supporter centricity at the heart of our approach to raising funds.

Working closely with the Board, CEO and senior team, the Director of Fundraising plays a crucial role in delivering Teach First’s ambitious strategy, building on our strong foundations and record of success to lead an exciting new phase in the growth of fundraising at Teach First. The ideal candidate is an experienced fundraising leader who shares our vision for all young people and who has spearheaded rapid, sustained growth within a high value fundraising environment and ideally with significant experience in Corporate Fundraising.

Working with many of the country’s leading businesses and business leaders, trusts and major donors, you’ll know how to get the very best from a dynamic, high performing, multi-disciplinary team in order to achieve even greater impact. As a senior member of Teach First’s Engagement directorate, you’ll come with strategic insight from the education, youth or poverty relief sectors. You’ll be a creative and inspirational leader, accustomed to working with both internal and external senior stakeholders and someone who thrives when bringing about positive change. You will also haveexperience of successfully delivering change within a fast-paced environment and a strong and natural collaborator.

Experienced Hires Recruitment Officer

The Experienced Hires Recruiter is responsible for targeting and recruiting talented individuals from several specific geographical regions to apply to the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. You will be responsible for all Teach First activity within your allocated regions. This includes accountability for hitting ambitious targets, delivering key events and activities, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders; and building a strong pipeline of future diverse applicants from well-established demographics and emerging talent pools. You will raise the brand of Teach First to support the achievement of teacher recruitment targets so that we can place exceptional teachers in classrooms where they are needed most with the aim of reducing educational inequality.

PDL Secondary (Time to Teach)

The Time to Teach programme is a new and innovative route into teaching for career changers. Those involved in this programme will have the opportunity to design and shape the future of the programme in collaboration with colleagues.

The Participant Development Lead (PDL) is accountable for ensuring Time to Teach participants (trainee teachers) complete the Time to Teach Programme, develop into lifelong leaders, and meet the organisation’s pupil impact targets in their classrooms. They will lead all aspects of support provided to participants including that of school-based mentors to ensure participants thrive and complete the programme. PDLs will lead both the subject knowledge and pedagogical knowledge on the programme. Whilst you will primarily be responsible for design and delivery of the Time to Teach programme, you will be part of wider national PDL team, working to provide high quality teacher development through a range of different programmes.
