Programme Events Lead - Summer Institute (0.6 Maternity Cover)

This includes making operational decisions, cohering and implementing the release of SI information and supporting the London region teams throughout.

Teach First is currently running a number of exciting and transformative projects. To facilitate this, we require a Project and Change Manager to manage a number of projects over the course of next year. This role will support the planning, management and implementation of projects with a focus on those projects requiring organisational change. The Project Manager will need to project plan according to strict deadlines and within budget. They will need to oversee a cross functional series of workstreams, ensuring that all work is delivered to time and achieves the required outcomes. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and colleagues across the organisation in order to deliver across all work streams. Immediate projects may include the delivery of a Schools Portal or delivery of new programmes but will change regularly as per organisational need.

Executive Assistant (Recruitment and Programme Delivery)

The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide critical planning and comprehensive support to the Executive Directors (2) of both the Recruitment and Programme Delivery directorates. Your role will enable them to oversee large, ambitious, and geographically dispersed teams in the most highly organised, effective and efficient way possible.

The EA will be expected to lead, influence and support a range of people across different levels of experience whilst providing exceptional support to the EDs. You will therefore deliver impressive results both independently and with teams. You will be prioritising a constant, variable flow of work, in an extremely fast paced, buzzy and ambitious environment. You will boldly and proactively orchestrate a complex diary of demands in order to ensure that the EDs’ time is being used effectively to achieve high impact outcomes. You will successfully balance a wide variety of activities and routines to offer a comprehensive package of quality support to both Executive Directors.`

The Programme & Events Lead is a project management specialist who is jointly accountable for the high quality and consistent delivery of the two-year Teach First Leadership Development Programme (LDP), including the five-week residential Summer Institute and other regionally based programmes as required by the Regional Director. The post holder is responsible for co-leading the planning, execution and evaluation of all logistical elements of programme(s) delivery in the SESC. This is a project management role with a strong emphasis on logistics, communication and collaborative working.

Communications and Marketing Manager

This role will have responsibility for increasing engagement with some of Teach First’s most critical audiences – our teachers, alumni of our programmes, and our funders. You will work closely with partner departments and Directorates – most notably Programme Delivery, Fundraising and Network Development. You will plan an overall strategy for communications for these audiences – identify the key moments within the year for each of them and how they can work in an integrated way to further organisational goals. In addition, and alongside the Creative and Content Team, you will provide frameworks to allow more bespoke communications to be developed by these partner departments themselves. You will help them speak to their audience with a brand and voice that is consistent with the charity’s brand identity.

You’ll be led by our content strategy but will be the authority on how to apply it to our website and social media. You’ll look to the outside world for inspiration and engagement opportunities.

You’ll be organised and proactive with your content management and ensure that we forward-plan effectively. You’ll use your knowledge of web and social analytics to test, iterate and improve our content, delivering measurable improvements and reporting on performance. You’ll support the Content & Channel Manager to develop and maintain commissioning processes, upskilling colleagues and using your skills in writing, editing and publishing to ensure smooth delivery of inspirational, engaging content that supports specific activities and communicates our brand.

With a forward-thinking and proactive attitude, you’ll seek to grow and develop our website, populating it with top-notch content, managing other content contributions from colleagues and working with our Technology team on future development. You will always look externally for inspiration and to develop new ways for us to use web content, ensuring consistency and coordination with our social media output.

You will develop story ideas and deliver media coverage to reach new audiences and encourage more people to start a career in teaching through Teach First. Your press work will raise awareness of the issues in education we care about, the policy ideas that could solve them, and our work with partners. A typical day could see you drafting a media line in response to a Government policy announcement, meeting with a consumer journalist to pitch a case study story, evaluating our recent media campaigns, and writing our daily press briefing for staff.

Participant Development Lead - Secondary (Maths Specialism)

Teach First are working together with the Now Teach programme to provide a bespoke route into teaching for career changers. Those involved in this programme will have the opportunity to design and shape the future of the programme in collaboration with colleagues.

The Participant Development Lead (PDL) is accountable for ensuring Now Teach participants (trainee teachers) complete the Now Teach Programme, develop into lifelong leaders, and meet the organisation’s pupil impact targets in their classrooms. They will lead all aspects of support provided to participants including that of school-based mentors to ensure participants thrive and complete the programme. PDLs will lead both the subject knowledge and pedagogical knowledge on the programme. Whilst you will primarily be responsible for design and delivery of the programme, you will be part of wider national PDL team, working to provide high quality teacher development through a range of different programmes.

Schools Coordinator

The Schools Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring effective systems are created to allow the day-to-day smooth running of the region. The Coordinator will be key in facilitating the securing of placement of our participants through effective communications with schools, tracking and monitoring engagement and providing administrative support to the broader School Partnership team.
