Teach First 121 Meeting Bournemouth - Career Changers & Young Professionals

Teach First 121 Meeting Bournemouth - Career Changers & Young Professionals

We are now open for applications to train to teach with us in summer 2020. This is the best time to apply as we have full location and subject availability. As this is an early recruitment window, if unsuccessful, you will uniquely be able to apply again from September 2019 for summer 2020. Applying early also enables more time to prepare for getting into teaching both pragmatically and for subject knowledge.

This 1-2-1 meeting (approx 15-20 mins) is aimed specifically at young professionals and career changers in the South East and South Coast area of England. It will enable you to find out more about the charity, the structure and benefits of our route into teaching, in an informal manner.

You can teach a STEM subject from your A Level or equivalent if grade B or above.

Did you know 62% of low-income pupils fail to achieve an A*-C Science GCSE and the UK economy has a shortfall of 40,000 STEM graduates each year? Here is some information on the STEM challenge.

  • School-based and salaried programme - Earn a salary from your first day in September and throughout your training, including school holidays
  • No fees to pay: fully-funded PGDE - Unlike some other routes, you pay no fees for your training and receive a salary
  • Three points of professional support - Support from a subject expert, an in-school mentor and a Teach First mentor, plus the Teach First community
  • Training twice-rated outstanding by Ofsted - 99% of our trainees get a grade 1 or 2 QTS ranking

We have Early Years, Primary and Secondary places across England and Wales for our 2020 intake.

In the South East, South Coast area we are currently recruiting in the following areas:

Ashford, Dover & Folkestone; Hastings; Eastbourne & Brighton; Medway & Gravesham; Swale; Thanet; Portland/Weymouth; Bournemouth & Poole; Isle of Wight; Portsmouth; Southampton; Crawley.

Please note there are eligibility criteria you will need to meet in order to gain a place on our programme. We strongly advise you check the teaching requirements on our website before you sign up to attend this event.
