This week sees the publication of our policy paper “Leading Together: when it comes to school leadership, the whole works".
The report underlines that the success of a school depends on great leadership. But leaders and potential leaders in thousands of schools – disproportionately those in poorer areas – do not get the support and development they need to help them thrive.
The report presents evidence that developing whole teams of leaders in each school and embedding leadership skills at every level is effective at driving improvements. The paper makes a compelling case for the importance of effective team leadership in creating sustainable whole school improvement and highlights our response - the Leading Together programme.
