- When will I receive my Student Finance?
The course start date recorded with the Student Loans Company (SLC) is Wednesday 2 September. On this date, we will register all trainees who are actively participating in the programme. This registration will also trigger the release of any applied for Maintenance Loan or Grant payments from the SLC, provided that your application has been approved.
Payments are usually received within 2 to 3 days of registration, provided that you:
- Applied for Student Finance before the relevant deadline; and
- Enrolled with Sheffield Hallam University after receiving their enrolment email.
If you submitted your Student Finance application after the deadline, there may be delays to your payment.
- What should I do if I have not received my Student Finance payment?
If you were expecting your payment but have not received this by 6 September, we recommend contacting Student Finance directly. You should also contact your Teach First Admissions Officer for support using your usual contact email address (recruitment14@teachfirst.org.uk or recruitment15@teachfirst.org.uk)
- How do I obtain a Council Tax Exemption Letter
Please wait to be contacted by Sheffield Hallam University during September. Once you are registered with them, you can request a Council Tax exemption directly via Sheffield Hallam’s Student Support Services.
