Gift Aid is a simple and tax-efficient way to increase the value of your donation to Teach First - at no extra cost to you.

If you are a UK tax-payer, we can reclaim the basic rate tax (that means an extra 25p for every £1) on your donation, so if you donate £10, we’ll receive £12.50!

How do I know if I qualify?

To qualify for Gift Aid you must pay enough income tax and/or capital gains tax (in the UK) in the tax year to cover the amount that Teach First and all charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that you donate to will reclaim on gifts for that tax year.

What does it cost me?

Nothing! The additional money is claimed back from the government.

How do I sign up?

It’s easy! You just have to make a Gift Aid declaration by ticking the Gift Aid box on an online donation or printed donation form. If you are donating to us over the phone or sending us a cheque through the post, please complete this simple Gift Aid declaration and return to us at Teach First, 6 Mitre Passage, Greenwich, London, SE10 0ER.

What is a Gift Aid declaration?

A Gift Aid declaration is simply a statement of confirmation by a taxpaying donor that they want a charity to receive the tax paid on their donation back from the government.

Can I claim Gift Aid on money I have fundraised for Teach First?

Gift Aid applies only to ‘gifts’. We cannot claim Gift Aid on funds that have been raised by charging an entry fee, running a competition or raffle or selling goods or services (such as in a bake sale).
