100 Black Headteachers Network

Body

Our mission is simple: to add 100 Black Headteachers to the education system by 2038.

Founded in 2023, the 100 Black Headteachers Network was created in partnership with Teach First to tackle a longstanding issue: the severe underrepresentation of Black leaders in UK headship roles.

At the heart of our network is connection – bringing Black senior leaders together with influential figures in education.

We’ve hosted CPD events with leaders like Sir Jon Coles (United Learning), Will Smith (Greenshaw Learning Trust), and Dr Lawrence Foley (Future Academies). We also collaborate with headship recruiters, Deloitte and serving headteachers to provide practical support and mentorship.

The 100 Black Headteachers Network changed my life. I’ve received radical care, high quality leadership development and built relationships. I know that my students and I have received the growth of a lifetime which has put me in the position I am in today -  Yansé Cooper, Headteacher at ELAM

Eligibility: You must be working at a Teach First eligible school and commit to attending 80% of events (in London and Bedfordshire)
