15 years of Deloitte and Teach First

We are delighted to have reached a huge milestone with Deloitte - 15 years in partnership.

Throughout this time, we have worked together with the shared aim of building a fair education for all children.

Since 2006, through fundraising, volunteering and pro bono work, our partnership has positively impacted 414,700 young people and 1,352 school leaders. Deloitte is aiming to empower 50 million people by 2030 and together we're working to transform education for the most disadvantaged young people as part of their 5 Million Futures programme. To celebrate 15 years in partnership we're sharing inspirational stories from across our shared community.

A story that has come full circle - Lakiesha Maxey

"Deloitte's volunteers had a big impact on my life and I'll be forever grateful."

Lakiesha, a former pupil at partner school John Madejski Academy in Reading, joined Deloitte as an apprentice when she left school. She's now the relationship manager for her former school, having come full circle to support pupils through volunteering and programmes run by Deloitte.

I left the classroom but I didn't leave education - Mo Dassu

"If there’s one equaliser, it’s the education system. Anyone can help break the deprivation cycle, no matter what your background may be."

Mo was a maths teacher between 2015 and 2017, but when he left the classroom his passion for education remained. As an ambassador, Mo continues to tackle education inequality from beyond the school gates. He sits on our Ambassadors in Business Advisory Board and volunteers as a school governor in the Midlands. Along with 55 other Teach First ambassadors who now work at Deloitte, Mo fights for an education system that works for every child.

As our Executive Director for Programme Development, Reuben has seen first-hand the positive impact of Deloitte's support for our programmes.
